Thread: WPA networking not working WG511, T22, 9.10 Xubuntu

i upgraded trusty , crusty thinkpad t22 xubuntu 9.04 xubuntu 9.10. during upgrade update manager warned ndiswrapper stuff , accepted defaults. now, netgear wg511 not want connect wpa network.

have confirmed drivers - netgear wg511 windows drivers exist , ndiswrapper see them.

however, when type
code:
sudo lshw -c network
hangs until pull wireless card (pcmcia) out , lists details. similarly, when go applications > systems >windows wireless drivers message "cannot determine if wireless hardware present" though listed.

please

after troubleshooting able determine can make wireless connection if

a) network broadcasts ssid
b) and, run renice 19 <<wpa_supplicant_id>>

have not been able consistently going. hoping can me debug further.

have connect network when hidden (as used 8.10 , 9.04) , not have renice (it not nice).
