i see lot of instructions , advice on install ubuntu if have computer running flavor of windows or 1 running mac os x. if don't have those? there instructions on how create alternate boot device ubuntu , not setting simultaneously run on machine running windows or mac os x? have hp mini 1000 hp mi proprietary interface. husband loves , doesn't want me rid it. want play plain, old vanilla ubuntu looks documentation have on ubuntu, don't want make husband mad. therefore want create alternate boot when husband turns on machine, it'll remain him. when want play , learn can boot alternate device , goof around hearts content. know there instructions out there, problem them assume if have machine that's running linux of flavor, know you're doing. i'm new linux feel i'm falling through cracks here.
