i don't think can force links through unchanged. fm adds info can tell difference between targets have identical names came different files in book. think example missing 1 of arguments. typical newlink marker me comes out m7.8.newlink.test1
the first argument can mn or fn, where:
mn indicates marker in nth file in book (7 in case).
fn indicates first page of nth file in book.
the second argument, numeric, indicates marker type: 8 hypertext marker, 9 cross-reference marker.
the last argument (which includes "newlink" text) mangled marker text, in periods, underlines, , colons deleted, , spaces replaced periods.
newlink t.e_s:t1 becomes
m7.8.newlink.test1
fm adjust both links , targets in same way, both match in final pdf document. it's way is. if you're using targets other things you'll have adjust other things finished targets in final syntax.
