imagine table 10 squares across , 10 down - of squares colored black resemble un-answered crossword puzzle (no text). safari 3.1.2 correctly sees black-and-white design laid out in golive. older explorer 5.2 shows horizontal black bars - nothing intended crossword design. happens whether or not contain table within floating box. how can make browsers see same crossword-like pattern? thank you!!
i fixed work-around. empty squares need invisible text or other same-color objects in order convince browser of existence. otherwise browser won't recognize empty spaces , distort design accordingly. glitchy,glitchy, glitchy ...
