Thread: unable to shut down using shutdown button

i'm having strange problem since today (wasn't there directly after upgrade kubuntu 9.10, had system updates since):
can't shutdown/restart/logout via kde menus (kickoff launcher or application launcher).

buttons there , first time click on shutdown example, shutdown options window, when click on shutdown in it, nothing happens.

after first attempt, clicking on of logout/restart/shutdown buttons nothing @ all.

known bug?

there way debug buttons terminal?
couldn't figure out how launch kickoff cli, or find out command used buttons.

thing, might related or not, amarok fails start. have kill process , restart it. + stopped being able play sound files, can still stream online radio. o.o
(this happened after tried running startup application command "amarok -p someplaylist")

running kernel version: 2.6.31-14-generic

don't know if matters, did play sudoers file , current sudoers looks this:
code:
# /etc/sudoers # # file must edited 'visudo' command root. # # see man page details on how write sudoers file. # defaults defaults !lecture,tty_tickets,!fqdn # uncomment allow members of group sudo not need password # %sudo all=nopasswd: # host alias specification # user alias specification # cmnd alias specification # user privilege specification root all=(all) # members of admin group may gain root privileges %admin all=(all) %chvt all= nopasswd: /usr/bin/chvt
edit: reported bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=213541
problem still not solved.
