Thread: How to manage server

i absolute beginner in linux.
installed ubuntu 9.10 inside windows.
downloaded xampp linux .
installed it.
when go http://localhost, says
it works!

default web page server.
web server software running no content has been added, yet.


when try localhost/pohpmyadmin, says

not found

requested url /phpmyadmin not found on server.
apache/2.2.12 (ubuntu) server @ localhost port 80

please tell me htdocs folder , how access php myadmin.

i'm not sure xampp winds looking like. looks you're running windows, not linux.

suggestion tackle in 2 phases. first, find source file of page appeared. give default htdocs.

worry loading php.

need either books or internet resources -- these forums excellent -- configuration help, written configuring in linux, i'd turn apache xampp group additional information.
