RAW vs JPEG colours

hi,

i've been having sort of problem or question long time already.

namely, colours of jpeg , raw quite lot different? me raw colours unnatural , weird (if interested , of help, can later add straight-from-the-camera raw , straight-from-the-camera jpeg images). makes me think, there sth. wrong computer's or programs' settings, fact when thumbnails of raw first previewed (i have tried various programs lightroom, dxo, capture 1 etc), pretty jpeg-s, when click on them, colours of both large-scaled images, thumbnails, become flat , off.

i have thought because of incorrect colour management settings, myself can't find solution either.

so, has else been having similar problems , have found solution, or me silly problem?

i searched similar topics, couldn't find @ moment.

thanks

you have remember raw images have no processing done in
the camera. raw data sensor. jpegs , tiffs (if
camera supports that) have processing done them things
brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpening not mention suspect other
things have no use control on in camera menus (most cameras
let set amount of sharpening, contrast , like).
difference see between raw image , jpg if took
raw image , made adjustments it. besides having ability control
these basic adjustments raw wider range of editing
capabilities raw don't jpg. jpg when highlight
is blown or shadow totally black there more times not not
you can it, data lost , gone forever. however, raw
you can far more not recover image data because hasn't
been thrown out.

raw lot more work, not doubt it. 1 of reasons has
taken me long move away jpg or tiff. however, adobe
photoshop lightroom or bridge , acr has becomes ton more easy
process several thousand raw images shoot when go out
photograph. think part learning curve , part having
software makes processing lot less work.
