Has anybody tried this to extend Pi Cameras? - Raspberry Pi Forums

i know using dual cat5 cables, stumbled across old round d-sub 25 parallel 10' cable used run laser printer. 25 tiny discrete wires broken out gridded pins in flexible cable bit smaller average pencil.

also, cable old enough connector covers aren't molded on, snap-on.

remembered there ds 15 cables, last saw being used dvi-d monitors & such , 15' (4.5 meters) long.

these so obsolete may have been trashed already, if can find'em should cheap.

so... before cut mine up, there obvious reason these cables wouldn't work out pi extension cords?

the csi connection set on pi has 3 differential pairs ideally should twisted pairs interference reasons (not practical on flexis or pcb tracks). if @ flex pinout, you'll see there's ground between each pair minimise crosstalk.
hdmi match signals there similar in characteristic csi , individually screened pairs can connected appropriately. dvi-d nigh identical hdmi potentially used. printer cable has next no hope doesn't have individual screening or twisted pairs.
