Graphical UI glitches in CS3 Production premium apps

i'm using cs3 production premium on windows xp sp3 system. using "classic" windows interface (ie, no "glass" or "plasticky" look), , running whql certified version of nvidia graphics card drivers (pci-e geforce 8800 gts 512). system has 2gb of ram, , dual core athlon x2. problem ocurred different graphics card, , before update sp3.

when run adobe cs3 applications strange interface problem. tabbed interface elements seem "jump" or "shift" around randomly, if "jiggling". when use drop-down menus toolbar shift right , disappear completely, reappear few seconds later partially drawn "under" tabbed tool panels. when using selection tools "marching ants" left on screen expand selection leaving phantom elements behind. precision cursors leave trails well, , lag-time horrendous when painting, blurring or using history brush. sort of lag or redraw not apparent when using comparable high-end professional graphics tools other companies. system scores average high in graphical , cpu benchmark tests, i'm hesitant blame hardware. perhaps cs3 wanting 4gb of memory, dual 1gb graphics cards , quad-core cpu in order operate smoothly without graphical glitches everywhere. choosing tools, menu options, palettes , virtually drawing tools impossible glitching.

i've never had issue of sort other application, ever. happens adobe cs3. video card performance absolutely outstanding directx , opengl games , applications, , drivers consistently latest, certified non-beta releases. problem has persisted through several driver updates (and follow proper procedure of uninstalling old drivers, cleaning remaining files, installing new drivers).

i have had other adobe cs3 issues, including flexnet issues, , random crashes, necessitating reformatting system (as per adobe recommendation after exhausting other options). seems last straw after trying, yet again, give software chance. normal behavior menus? operate , glitch this? have seen no mention of anywhere else, yet find odd happen adobe on system, yet in every othe respect system performs solidly absolutely no graphical corruption or errors whatsoever. interface bizarre anyway , there seems no way disable needless tabs , flyout menus, unfortunately. wish adobe hadn't ruined usable interface this.

can diagnose strange problem? adobe use non-standard system accelerating menu functions? there option or setting missing improve "adobe compatibility" (despite system being 100% compatible dozens of other apps)?

i have been searching here, , elsewhere on web, , have not seen remotely it. i'm hoping find solution, or i'll have uninstall whole thing , call considerable adobe cs3 investment complete monetary loss , toss in garbage.
