i updated adobe reader 8.1, , made me download de thing before download new ebooks (which annoying 9 hells, btw), added de thing, , downloaded ebooks, can't open them in reader. can open them in de itself, not on reader. didn't update reader unable use it. so, guess have 2 questions: can i, or how i, open ebooks in reader, , if can not, able read ebooks when not online? if answer second question no, know how rid of de thing, while still being able download books. c'est possible?

you cannot open adobe ebooks in adobe reader 8.1. adobe moved ability out of reader version 8 onwards. why you're directed install digital editions when trying download ebooks.
you can still use adobe reader versions 7 or 6 read ebooks. however, not sure if can read ebooks downloaded digital editions if downgrade reader 7.
once you've downloaded ebook don't have online read it. launch digital editions shortcut on desktop , open ebook.
