i'm inheriting legacy project in fm 7 in each doc in book (about 12 docs, grow) uses separate variable , style set. i'd consolidate these , other aspects of documents basing them on same template. what's best approach that? i'm new framemaker , can't find "save template" or "apply template" type of functionality.
i know can import variable lists 1 doc another. i'd able global product name changes in 1 location.

it sounds, limited info available, easiest way pick chapter that's closest want end product , saveas file new location create template. modify file needed -- there number of tools within fm allow copy in portions of other files enhance chapter template.
when have template in shape, can apply -- or portions of -- files in book 1 command, , clean outlying elements.
