Does Joomla use a specific port for each function it performs? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i ask question because every time try , upload document through administration panel or install template/component/module/mambot times out on me.  on network that's partially controlled through our in-house department  think majority (or all) of firewall settings run through our headquarters in atlanta--- asked nicely them unblock ftp port, , did without fuss- thinking, there comprehensive list of ports used, or joomla work way?  if can send list request, willing work me....  or, if it's not specific port each time, there range of ports seeks each time?  or there way can redirect port uses?  ???  know there ports unblocked, such ftp port..... grrr... >:( it's frustrating.

i new joomla, , excited start using it  , have had many, many more hangups anticipated between our website host , our overhead network limitations force on us  :-\ .

any appreciated  :-*- i'm tired of having remote access computer @ home things done!!!!    (i had access post note!!   )
