Controlling stereo with 3.5mm Serial Port - Raspberry Pi Forums

i thought finding answer easy, can't quite seem find it.

built ir blaster using lirc , can control stereo device it. device has serial input 3.5mm input. have no specs on port prefer communicate way emitter.

best way convert lirc able send signals device's serial port instead of using emitter? assume serial port looks same 1's , 0's emitter transmits. if using male-to-male 3.5mm cable should work, quick test did not yield results.

i assume 3.5 mm serial port intended used auxiliary ir receiver. should start by telling model of stereo want control.
