Thread: Should I be worried?


i have port 80 forwarded www using router, can access website stored on home server. there security risks should aware of , take action prevent, eg mitm attacks, mitb attacks etc? know quite alot computers security achilles heel in terms of computer knowledge - i've never administrated server connected www before.

also, tremendous security risk forwarding ssh (port 22) port, can access , administrate server remotely too? i'm totally not sure careful of really. , port 5900 desktop (vnc port)? i've heard doing sort of thing introduces whole lot of new stuff people can exploit.

i've run apache years under windows , months under ubuntu , never had problems port forwarding wise. vnc never used, ssh changed default port lot higher, not obvious on script kiddie scans.
