Thread: 9.10 - HP Laserjet printing via Jetdirect fails

hi,

i've installed karmic on 3 machines - 2 scratch , 1 upgrade 9.04.

on of machines, i've been unable print hp laserjet 4 on network, using hp jetdirect card on printer.

i've added printer , tried of various driver options, each time go print test page, fails , following notification appears: 'com.apple.print.recoverable'.... followed minute or later message suggesting printer isn't connected... is!

printer works fine windows vista , windows 7, , working ubuntu 9.04..

has else seen this? have missed something?

confirm same experience on 2 installations have of ubuntu 9.10 karmic koala panasonic printer using driver "generic pcl 5e printer - cups+gutenprint v5.2.4 [en]".
