the first issue had when trying update flash cs3 9.0.0 adobe updater balking, claiming needed 'admin' privileges - have.
after skirting issue invoking updater via terminal, thought in clear. however, after updater discovered & installed it's 90.9 mb of updates, flash cs3 still reports it's version being: 9.0.0.494.
i download stand-alone 9.0.2 installer adobe.com, ran no avail. still on 9.0.0.
not sure else try now. i'm running 10.4.10 on 8-core (original). appreciated.

i'd update 10.4.11 using apples combo updater see if fixes everything.
