Thread: I really messed up my computer

first sorry english-
hi, today trying install windows 7 , new ubuntu 9.10 in asus eee 900ha.
installed windows 7 without problem (overwriting xp came 900ha), running good. downloaded ubuntu 9.10 "netbook remix" install , test it...
think installed ok! didn't (i prefer desktop version).
so, did think reinstall again time desktop version of ubuntu...
when tried noticed f9 not working restore system (as computers don't have dvd unit, pressing f9 "resets" computer factory settings).... wait boot loader of linux load (grub) , had 6 options think:
ubuntu 9.10
windows 7
windows xp
memory test
said, maybe "windows xp" selection take me restoration (f9).. if fact did that... restoration started when shows pop "restart now" pc didn't 30 minutes... decided turn off manually.. when computer restarted, complete mess.. grub tried load 100 errors.
f9 didn't work... windows 7 didn't load... ubuntu netbook remix didn't well..
tried using recovery dvd, doesn't load....
tried using windows 7 dvd boot, , nothing... (the hard drive led doesn't turn off, i've waitd 2 hours , nothing).
tried reinstalling ubuntu , nothing..
removed hard drive , installed in desktop computer... idea open 900ha's hard drive in windows (using desktop pc) , format , merge partitions... but!.. if 900has hard drive connected windows not load... if disconected it... windows works fine..

don't know do...
i'm thinking hard drive damaged somehow grub??

well, managed load ubuntu using live cd , showed 10 partitons (when had 3).. doesn't load....
don't understand.

when install windows after linux, windows makes changes master boot record (mbr).
