i want detect the vibration of string , determine wave characteristics being produced vibration. light preferable because believe reduces power requirements if such sensor exists. prototyping , proving concept not need high precision quality instruments(sensors).
in several spy movies laser beam has been used listen voices in distant room. if not pure fiction, should possible apply same technique string.
