silly question - i'm trying deactivate cs3 suite, upgrade cs4 (and use cs3 on machine). faq , systems indicate should choose "deactivate" "help" menu in cs3 app. menu item doesn't exist...any ideas?

i see possible issue, unfortunately, offhand don't know enough give "final determination."
but understand: if upgrading cs3 cs4 (or other similar upgrade can think of), older , newer versions considered legally 1 application linked each other same serial number(s). is, can't split product , use cs3 on 1 machine , cs4 on machine if tied same registration , serial numbers. true, though not need cs3 installed install and/or run cs4. will need enter cs3 serial number cs4 upgrade. full version installations have own specific serial numbers not tied old serial number.
that said, generally can install cs4 on 2 different machines use non-simultaneous use. , there neither need uninstall cs3 on old machine or install on new machine if use meets license use agreed to.
